Register your interest in the reviews of the Australian road rules and Australian vehicle standards rules
The National Transport Commission invites interested parties to register their interest in upcoming reviews of the Australian road rules and Australian vehicle standards rules.
The Australian road rules are ‘model laws’ that states and territory base their road rules on. This ensures that there is consistency in road rules across Australia. The vehicle standards rules are also ‘model laws’ that provide in-service or roadworthiness standards for motor vehicles operating on public roads.
The reviews will explore areas such as the practical outcomes of the rules, the experiences of stakeholders and whether the rules can be improved to maximise their effectiveness.
How can I have my say?
The NTC will consult widely with government organisations, industry and users of the rules throughout all stages of the reviews – from informing the scope, developing the discussion paper and finally, the evaluation report.
If you would like to register your interest in the reviews, or if you have any comments on the scope of the reviews or any other feedback or information you would like to provide, please contact NTC on:
