How do I check my charges?

You can access a tax invoice or summary of charges incurred during your rental hire here. Logging-in requires your surname and your Avis or Budget rental agreement number, which you will have received at the time you picked up your rental car.

Check your charges 

If you’re hiring a car to get around the eastern states of Australia it’s likely you’re going to drive on one of the numerous motorways in Sydney, Brisbane and Victoria.

Most motorways charge a small fee known as a toll and some motorways have no cash payment system. This means, on those roads you’ll need to pay electronically.

For your convenience, Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) in partnership with Avis and Budget has introduced an E-Toll facility on all Avis and Budget rental vehicles.

How does it work?

As a result of the partnership between Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) and Avis and Budget, when you rent any vehicle through Avis or Budget you enter into an agreement with Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority). As a result your rental vehicle details will be detected when you drive through any electronic toll collection point in Australia. These tolls will be charged back to you by the same payment collection method you have chosen to pay for your rental.

How much does the rental car E-Toll facility cost?

All charges and daily service fees are explained before you sign your rental agreement and as set out in Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) E-Toll Facility Terms and Conditions. You will be charged for the tolls you incur plus a daily service fee, which will only be charged for the days you use a toll road.

The service fees are:

* Please note: You will not be charged a service fee for the days you don’t travel on a motorway. For example, if you hire a rental car for three days using a credit card and then drive on toll roads for only two out of the three days, you will only be charged a $4.40 service fee plus the accrued toll charges.

Please note: it may take up to 5 weeks for the same toll charges to appear on your credit card statement.

If you've nominated to pay cash, an invoice detailing your toll charges and service fees will be sent to the address you provided on your Avis or Budget rental document.
