What do the changes involve?

In response to demand for electronic toll payment, on Sunday 28 September changes were made to lanes and toll booth arrangements on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Drivers should take special care as they become familiar with the new arrangements. The following changes were implemented:

What should I do if I drive through an 'E' lane without a tag?

You will need to arrange a pass by contacting the RTA on 131 865 within 48 hours of your trip. If you do not contact the RTA you will receive a toll notice in the mail which you will need to pay. There will be additional fees or charges.

What if I want a receipt?

Receipts can be obtained from the following booths:

  • Rocks Plaza – Bradfield Highway (operates morning peak only)
Drivers requiring a receipt should use Bradfield Plaza or purchase a tag.
  • Bradfield Plaza – Bradfield Highway
Drivers can obtain a receipt from the booths in the centre lanes.
  • Milsons Point – Cahill Expressway
Drivers can obtain a receipt from the booths on the left lane.

However, drivers who would like receipts would be best to purchase a tag which provides an itemised listing.

Can you send me something to show me how the booths will change?

You can view and download diagrams showing the changes or call 131 865 to have them mailed to you.

Why is the RTA making these changes to the Sydney Harbour Bridge?

More cashless tolling lanes inproves traffic flow throughout the Sydney Orbital Network. As more drivers use tags the demand for electronic only lanes increases also.
