A new service is being piloted for road users to receive alerts about critical traffic conditions on the F3 Freeway. The alerts can be sent by email, SMS or text to voice, depending on the driver's licence type.
For this pilot, critical traffic conditions are unplanned events that cause major incidents or significant delays to normal travel time on the freeway and critical traffic incidents that may close the freeway in one or both directions.
Alerting F3 users to these conditions will help them to choose alternative ways to get where they're going, and prevent greater traffic build-up and longer delays.
