How reliable are RTA E-Toll tags?
Tests have shown that RTA E-Toll tags work 99.8 per cent of the time - if they are attached correctly to the vehicle.
How do I attach the tag?
When you open a tag account you will get instructions on how to attach to your vehicle. You can also download the instructions.
Can I just hold it up as I pass through the toll point?
No. If you try to hold the tag up to the windscreen it will fail around 35 per cent of the time.
What if the tag doesn't register?
If your tag does not work for any reason and you have an active account when you receive a toll notice, simply fill in the form or let us know and the administration fee will be waived.
Will I need to replace my tag?
Electronic tags, like any electronic products, do have an end life – they will run out in around five to eight years.
What do I do if my tag doesn't work?
If your tag fails for any reason bring it into an RTA motor registry and we will replace it for free.
