Western Region

There are no major bicycle infrastructure projects currently being undertaken by the RTA.

The following projects are council based and details are available by contacting the relevant project officer at the following councils:

• Bathurst Regional - construction of a shared use path along the north eastern foreshore of the Macquarie River from opposite Church Lane to Lions Club Road, Bathurst.
• Blayney – construction of a shared use path within Heritage Park from Adelaide Street to Farm Lane, Blayney.
• Broken Hill - construction of a shared use path along the southwest side of Chloride Street (Sturt Park) from Wolfram Street to Beryl Street, Broken Hill.
• Cabonne - construction of a shared use path along the north eastern side of Hamilton Street, the south eastern side of Mayne Street, through the reserve and along the south eastern side of Thompson Street from the Cargo Public School to Church Street, Cargo.
• Cowra - upgrade of the existing footpath to a shared use path, along the western foreshore of the Lachlan River from Low Level Bridge Road to the southern end of Edgell Park, Cowra. Construction of a shared use path along the southern boundary of Edgell Park from the Lachlan River to Lachlan Valley Way, Cowra. Installation of a road shoulder along the eastern side of Lachlan Valley Way from the southern end of Edgell Park to Low Level Bridge Road, Cowra.  Installation of a sealed road shoulder along the southern side of Low Level Bridge Road from Lachlan Valley Way to the existing Lachlan River foreshore path, Cowra.
• Dubbo - construction of a shared use path along the north western side of Cobbora Road (Golden Highway) from Myall Street to Yarrandale Road, Manera Heights.
• Greater Lithgow - installation of an on-road cycleway along Hassans Walls Road, Norman Henry Drive, Hartley Valley Road and Mort Street from Lithgow Street/Wrights Road to King Street, Lithgow - includes minor improvement works to the unsealed road sections.
• Moree Plains - construction of a shared use path along the southern foreshore of the Mehi River from under the Balo Street (Gwydir Highway) bridge to Victoria Terrace, Moree.
• Narromine - construction of a shared use path through Tom Perry Park (northwest side) from Burraway Street (kerb blister) to the Dandaloo Street railway level crossing, Narromine.
• Oberon - construction of a shared use path along the southern side of Queen Street from Earl Street to opposite ... Park, Oberon. Construction of a shared use path along the western side of Dudley Street from Edith Road to Buckley Crescent, Oberon.
• Orange - installation of an on-road cycleway along Leeds Road from opposite Ophir Street to the Northern Distributor Road, Orange. Construction of a shared use path paralleling the Main Western Railway from opposite Ophir Street to Dalton Street, Orange.
