The City of Sydney and NSW Government are introducing these changes to prevent speeding in the Rocks area.
There will be managed access, authorised traffic including residents, their visitors and taxis will be able to drive north along Hickson Road past Pottinger Street.
Northbound motorists on George Street will be diverted onto Alfred Street near Circular Quay.
Motorists can exit the restricted area via either route.

During stage two, cars travelling from Parramatta Road will need to access Glebe Point Road via Derwent Street.
