Example policies

Safe driving policy

The RTA developed this policy for its employees who need to drive at work.  This policy developed in 2002 outlines responsibilities of management and of employees in using RTA vehicles.  This also includes identifying risk factors such as fatigue.

Road safety manual

WA Transport has developed a road safety manual to assist employers to develop policies for their organisations.

Driver knowledge test

Test your road safety knowledge by answering example questions which all licence applicants must undertake.

Hazard perception handbook

Useful and informative facts on hazard perception. As part of the new licensing scheme all new drivers need to pass this test to progress from a P1 to a P2 driver licence.

These rules include the Australian Road Rules (ARRs) which are a basically consistent set of rules applying right across Australia and making it easier all round for road users.

RTA fatigue kit

The RTA has developed a driver fatigue kit designed to allow delivery of driver fatigue information to employees who use a company vehicle as part of their job, but not as the core activity of the job.
