Safe riding tips

  • Motorcyclists riding in groups do not have any special rights. Plan ahead and make sure everyone knows the route and stopping points.
  • It is advisable that the most experienced rider is at the front of the group and the second most experienced rider is at the back of group.
  • With large groups, break up the group into smaller groups so that there is less speed variance and less disturbance to other road users.
  • If you do ride at the same pace at others, keep a following distance of at least three seconds. Don’t compromise your space to ride in a formation.
  • Never ride side by side or any closer than three seconds from any vehicle.
  • Do not block other road users.
