The Australian Government has allocated $70 million to deliver improved safety and productivity outcomes for road freight operators and other road users.

Specific program objectives are to continue to:

• Reduce the proportion of road accidents involving heavy vehicles by targeting heavy vehicle driver fatigue and speed.
• Increase productivity by enhancing the capacity of existing roads.

Funding is being provided for:

• Parking/decoupling bay projects.
• Road enhancement projects.
