Pavement reconstruction at Golsby Hill
Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) reconstructed the road pavement at Golsby Hill 25km north-east of Cowra on the Mid Western Highway.
The original road pavement was constructed in 1985.
The road pavement on this section was no longer adequate for current traffic usage.
These works are part of Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) planned maintenance works.
Project objectives
- To reconstruct the existing pavement on its current alignment to provide improved ride quality and road safety.
- To bring the road up to current route standard.
- To improve the drainage culverts were extended and sediment control devices were put in place.
Work commenced in March 2010 and was completed in mid 2010.
