The $1.7 billion Hunter Expressway project is expected to create on average 800 direct jobs and 2,400 jobs in the life of the project.

Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) and its Alliance partners and constractors, wherever possible, use local products and services for infrastructure construction projects.

Note: All companies that supply services on site must be Construction Code and Fair Work Australia compliant.  Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) audits all companies before they are contracted to ensure they meet the guidelines.
