Upgrade of Middle Creek and Pokolbin Creek bridges

What is the project

Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) has completed improvements works on Middle Creek Bridge and Pokolbin Creek Bridge on Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin.

The work on both bridges has improved safety for motorists and cyclists safety and was fully funded by the NSW Government.

Key features of the proposal

The following improvements were made at Middle Creek Bridge:

  • The old bridge was demolished and replaced with a wider bridge.
  • The road approaches to the existing bridge were upgraded.

The following improvements were made to Pokolbin Creek Bridge:

  • The old bridge was widened on the western side
  • The traffic barriers on both sides of the bridge were upgraded.
  • The bridge deck was strengthened with concrete and resurfaced.
  • The road approaches to the bridge were upgraded.

Benefits of the proposal

  • Wider, safer bridges that meet current bridge standards.
  • Improved cyclist safety.
