Intersection improvements for Newcastle Road and Albert Street

Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) has undertaken safety improvements at the intersection of Newcastle Road and Albert Street, North Lambton.

Features of the project include:

  • Closure of the central median to eliminate u-turn movements on Newcastle Road and right hand turn movements from Albert Street onto Newcastle Road.
  • Motorists on the southern side of Albert Street wishing to travel east can safely access Newcastle Road via the Croudace Road traffic signals and motorists on the northern side of Albert Street wishing to travel west can safely access Newcastle Road via the Dent Street traffic signals.
  • Access at Robinson Avenue remains unchanged.
  • Retention of the existing left in and left out of Albert Street on both sides of Newcastle Road.

Benefits

  • Improved safety for motorists and local residents.
  • Improved traffic flow along Newcastle Road.
