M4 cycleway
Construction is now completed on the M4 Cycleway project. The new 675 metre off-road shared bicycle and pedestrian path between Ledger Road, Merrylands and Fox Street, Holroyd, now links Merrylands to the existing M4 Motorway cycleway at Parramatta. The cycleway was delivered as a key infrastructure project from the NSW Government's cycling action plan.
The cycleway is 3 metres wide and was constructed along the southern side of the M4 Motorway within the motorway corridor, approximately 2 metres above the carriageway. It includes an underpass at Pitt Street, Merrylands, new street lighting and line marking for two way pedestrian and cycle traffic using the path.
The cycleway links Ledger Road, Merrylands to the existing M4 regional shared path at Parramatta, providing cyclists and pedestrians with connections to: Parramatta CBD, including Parramatta Park; Granville CBD; Merrylands CBD and Sydney Olympic Park.
