F5 Freeway widening

The F5 Freeway (Hume Highway) extends south from the M5/M7 interchange at Prestons. To cater for increased traffic Roads and Maritime Services has widened the freeway to eight lanes between Camden Valley Way, Prestons and Brooks Road, Ingleburn.

Widening of the F5 Freeway from four to eight lanes between Camden Valley Way and Brooks Road commenced in April 2005 and was completed in August 2008. The new lanes were built in 2 stages in what was previously the central median area. This project was jointly funded by the NSW and Australian governments.
