Bernera Road to Cowpasture Road

Camden Valley Way upgrade

Work has commenced to widen Camden Valley Way from a two lane road to a four lane divided road between Bernera Road, Prestons and Cowpasture Road, Horningsea Park.

This $60 million project is fully funded by the NSW Government.

Features of the project

  • Camden Valley Way widened to a four lane divided road with central median from Bernera Road to Cowpasture Road.
  • A 3 metre wide shared pedestrian and cyclist path on the northern side of Camden Valley Way.  This path will connect to the 40km shared path along the M7 motorway via the shared path along Cowpasture Road.
  • New traffic lights at the Corfield Road, Rynan Avenue and Horningsea Park Drive  intersections. These intersections will include pedestrian and cyclist crossings.
  • Designated turning lanes.
  • Indented bus bays.
  • Installation of box culverts to improve flood immunity.
  • Landscaped median.

  • Improved access for the developing residential areas in Prestons and Edmondson Park.
  • Reduced traffic congestion.
  • Landscaping and urban design to complement the local environment.
  • Improved access to the M5 and M7 motorways.
