Update on Peats Ferry Bridge night maintenance work
Vital maintenance work on the two-lane Peats Ferry Bridge over the Hawkesbury River at Brooklyn is moving to the final stage and is expected to be completed in July 2013, weather permitting.
Peats Ferry Bridge is the steel truss bridge located on the Pacific Highway, east of the bridge that forms part of the Sydney to Newcastle F3 Freeway. Peats Ferry Bridge provides a direct link from the F3 to Brooklyn and the Pacific Highway.
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is scheduled to begin installing new joints on Peats Ferry Bridge on Sunday night 28 April 2013, weather permitting.
During this work, the bridge is scheduled to be closed at night, Sunday to Thursday, from 9pm to 5am.
During day work, one lane of the bridge will remain open. Minor delays may occur.
When the bridge is closed at night, road access to Brooklyn will be maintained via specially marked detours catering for both northbound and southbound traffic on the F3. View or download the latest detour map to the right.
Electronic message signs will be used to alert drivers about the night detours.
Motorists are encouraged to factor additional time into their travel plans. Work on the bridge will not impact on water traffic.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained throughout the work.
RMS will continue to inform local residents and businesses on the progress of this work.
We apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate the patience of residents, business operators, tourists and other motorists.
For further information, please telephone the RMS Works Engineer, Scott Cullum, on (02) 9598 7718 during business hours or email Scott.CULLUM@rms.nsw.gov.au.
