Kings Highway road safety review
The NSW Centre for Road Safety and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) have undertaken a road safety review of the Kings Highway between the Princes Highway roundabout at Batemans Bay and the eastern most part of the ACT border just south of Bungendore.
Community members and stakeholders were invited to submit their feedback on the Kings Highway Road Safety Review through an online issues mapping tool, in community workshops and by email and post earlier in 2012. The comments received during the consultation period have been compiled and a report summarising the outcomes is now available from the project documents page.
The NSW Centre for Road Safety and RMS sought community feedback on:
- Locations on the Kings Highway where you think road safety is a problem.
- Locations of near miss or unreported accidents.
- General road safety concerns on the Kings Highway.
- The proposed treatments for the Kings Highway near Braidwood.
As part of the consultation process two community workshops were held in Bungendore (2 May 2012) and Batemans Bay (4 May 2012). At the workshops the project team presented on the:
- Background and scope of the Kings Highway Review.
- Crash history and statistics.
To view or download the workshop presentation or the meeting note go to the project documents page.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
An experienced and qualified road safety specialist managed the review process. All site and technical investigations have been completed.
