Queanbeyan heavy vehicle bypass
The heavy vehicle bypass is a series of intersection upgrades on a northern route around Queanbeyan providing operators with convenient access to local industrial areas and freight routes to the ACT, Goulburn, Sydney and southern NSW.
There are a number of benefits for heavy vehicle operators using the bypass:
- It is an approved B double route.
- The new, wider bridge on Railway Street has no load limit.
- Bypass Intersections have been designed to accommodate heavy vehicle combinations and their turning movements.
- Covenvenient access is available to the industrial areas of Letchworth, Larmer and the ACT.
- An efficient link now exists for heavy vehicles avoiding Monaro Street and congested roads.
