Funding was committed by the NSW Government in the 2012/13 budget for intersection improvements on the Princes Highway at South Head Road. Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) is currently investigating suitable solutions to improve the intersection.

In the five years to 30 September 2011, there have been three reported crashes resulting in three people injured at the intersection.

RMS held community drop in sessions on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 August 2012 to get the community's feedback about near miss and unreported crashes, pedestrian activity, local road safety and traffic knowledge near / at the intersection. The community drop in sessions were held at The Mechanics Institute in Moruya. The submission period closed on Friday 24 August 2012.
