Princes Highway upgrade

The project

Foxground and Berry bypass project

The proposed Foxground and Berry bypass would provide a four lane highway with median separation for approximately 11.6 kilometres on the Princes Highway between Toolijooa Road and Schofields Lane.  It would include a bypass of Berry with access ramps at the north and south of the town.

Project overview

The project would include the following key features:

  • Widening the Princes Highway to a four lane highway with median separation between Toolijooa Road and Schofields Lane (approximately 11.6 km in length) bypassing Foxground and Berry.
  • An interchange at Toolijooa Road.
  • A substantial cutting about 24 metres deep at Toolijooa Ridge.
  • An interchange and heavy vehicle rest area at Austral Park Road.
  • A northern interchange for Berry.
  • A southern interchange for Berry at Kangaroo Valley Road.

Key benefits of the upgrade include

  • Improved traffic efficiency and overall safety for road users on this section of the Princes Highway.
  • Generation of local employment opportunities.
  • Support for the local and regional economy in the short and long term.
