Upcoming activities for May 2012
- Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) will finalise the technical studies for the southern Berry bypass cost review and prepare the technical investigation group report. This report will be subject to an independent review by both internal RMS and external (SMEC) reviewers prior to submission to the Minister for Roads and Ports.
- RMS will continue work on the concept design for the preferred Berry bypass northern alignment.
- Continue discussions with property owners on issues relating to property access, heavy vehicle rest area, flooding, noise and visual impacts in the Foxground and Berry bypass project area. RMS appreciatescommunity members who continue to help us understand these local issues.
- Preparation of an environmental assessment. There will be a focus on:
- Further understanding of the potential local traffic changes and improvements.
- Further refining of future land use for community areas between the proposed alignment and Berry.
- Continuing investigations into changes to impacts on biodiversity, noise, property and land use based on the revised route and working group input.
