Notice to Motorists

While proceeding through the following work sites, motorists are requested to observe all warning signs, adhere to any direction given by traffic controllers and reduce speed accordingly.

 Worksite safety  

Hexham to Bulahdelah

Pavement resealing and/or private access work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures:

  • Tomago Road (northbound just north of Hexham) on Saturday 25 (8.00pm to 6.00am night); and
  • Booral Road (just south of Bulahdelah) to Bulahdelah from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 (7.00am to 5.00pm). All vehicles in excess of 3.8m. wide are required to contact 0427 217 250 at least one (1) hour prior to reaching the site.

Construction work will take place for the Bulahdelah Bypass up to 4km south of Bulahdelah. Temporary traffic control will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures. Some minor delays will be experienced.

Bulahdelah to Taree

Construction work will take place for the Bulahdelah Bypass up to 6km north of Bulahdelah. Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Monday 20 to Saturday 25 (7.00am to 6.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with intermittent stoppages. Minor delays will be experienced.

Pavement maintenance, drainage and/or road marking work will take place at the following locations. Some minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (6.30am to 6.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures:

  • Coolongolook (47km south of Taree) on Friday 24; and
  • Wang Wauk River (35km south of Taree) from Monday 20 to Thursday 23.

Taree to Kempsey

Construction work will take place at Herons Creek (5 to 9km north of Kew). Temporary traffic control will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 involving reduced speed limits, intermittent stoppages (7.00am to 6.00pm), shoulder and northbound lane closures (24 hours). Some minor delays will be experienced.

Construction work for the Kempsey Bypass will take place between Maria River (9km south of Kempsey) and Sth Kempsey. Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane diversions will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Intermittent stoppages will take place from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (6.30am to 6.00pm). Minor delays will be experienced.

Pavement maintenance, safety camera and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:

  • Taree Bypass (northbound 6km north of Taree) on Thursday 23 & Friday 27 (6.00pm to 6.00am night);
  • Blyths Road (southbound 11km north of Kew) on Friday 24;
  • Ryans Road (15km north of Kew) from Monday 20 to Friday 24;
  • Oxley Hwy (45km south of Kempsey) to Kempsey from Monday 20 to Friday 24;
  • Fernbank (44km south of Kempsey) from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 (9.00am to 3.00pm);
  • Hastings River (39km south of Kempsey) on Friday 24 (9.00am to 3.00pm); and
  • Greenwattle Ck (4km south of Kempsey) from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (9.30am to 2.30pm.

Kempsey

Pavement testing work will take place between Belgrave Street and Forth Street. Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Wednesday 22 (7.00pm to 1.00am night) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures. Minor delays will be experienced.

Kempsey to Coffs Harbour

Power line work will take place at Frederickton (6km north of Kempsey). Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Thursday 23 (9.30am to 3.00pm) involving intermittent stoppages and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available. Minor delays will be experienced.

Construction work will take place for the Kempsey Bypass between Frederickton and Bellimbopinni (7 to 11km north of Kempsey). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Intermittent stoppages will take place from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (6.30am to 6.00pm). Minor delays will be experienced.

Pavement maintenance, safety barrier, delineation and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Temporary traffic control will be implemented (6.00am to 6.00pm) involving reduced speed limits and stoppages with only one lane alternately available at some locations. Motorists should provide an additional 15 minutes travel time as considerable delays may be experienced:

  • Kempsey to Coffs Harbour from Monday 20 to Friday 24;
  • Clubucca (20km north of Kempsey) from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 (6.00pm to 6.00am night);
  • Barraganyatti (25km north of Kempsey) from Monday 20 to Friday 24. All vehicles in excess of 3.8m. wide are required to contact 0439 600 783 at least one (1) hour prior to reaching the site;
  • Eungai to Warrell Ck (7 to 19km sth of Macksville) from Mon.20 to Sun.26 (6.00pm to 6.00am night);
  • Bellwood (just south of Nambucca Heads) on Friday 24 (9.30am to 3.00pm);
  • Martells Road (3km south of Urunga) from Tuesday 21 to Thursday 23 (9.30am to 3.00pm); and
  • Urunga to Raleigh (22 to 26km south of Coffs Harbour) on Tuesday 21 (5.30am to 8.00am).

Coffs Harbour

Pavement maintenance and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Some minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented involving reduced speed limits, mobile shoulder and/or lane closures:

  • Lyons Road Overbridge on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 (7.00am to 4.00pm); and
  • Lyons Roadto Englands Road on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 (9.00am to 12.30pm).

Coffs Harbour to Grafton

Pavement maintenance and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:

  • Coffs Harbour to Dirty Ck Range (17km north of Woolgoolga) from Monday 20 to Friday 24; and
  • Dirty Creek Range (18km north of Woolgoolga) to South Grafton from Monday 20 to Friday 24.

Construction work will take place between Kororo (7km north of Coffs Harbour) and Arrawarra (6km north of Woolgoolga). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Short term stoppages with only one lane alternately available will take place on Sunday 26 (8.00am to 6.00pm), and on Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 (7.00pm to 6.00am night). Minor delays will be experienced.

Construction work will take place at Corindi (10km north of Woolgoolga). Temporary traffic control will be implemented from Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available. Minor delays will be experienced.

A construction site is located at Glenugie (12 to 21km south of Grafton). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures will take place from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (7.00am to 5.00pm). Some minor delays may be experienced.

Grafton to Maclean

Pavement maintenance work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:

  • South Grafton to Maclean (42km north of Grafton) from Monday 20 to Friday 24; and
  • Clarenza (2km north of Grafton) on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 (9.30am to 3.00pm).

Construction work will take place at Swan Ck (6km north of Grafton). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits and shoulder closures will be in place from Tuesday 21 to Sunday 26. Intermittent stoppages will take place from Tuesday 21 to Friday 24 (7.00am to 5.00pm). Minor delays may be experienced.

Bridge work will take place at Coldstream River (16km south of Maclean). Temporary traffic control will be implemented on Thursday 23 (7.00am to 4.00pm) involving a reduced speed limit and lane closures with only one lane alternately available. All vehicles in excess of 3.8m. wide are required to contact 0411 264 717 at least one (1) hour prior to reaching the site. Minor delays will be experienced.

Maclean to Ballina

Construction work will take place at Farlows Flat, Harwood (3 to 5km north of Maclean). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits and shoulder closures will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Short term stoppages with only one lane alternately available will take place from Monday 20 to Saturday 25 (7.00am to 5.00pm). Minor delays will be experienced.

Vegetation management work will take place between Tabbimoble (28km north of Maclean) and Ballina. Mobile traffic control will be implemented from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (6.00am to 6.00pm). No delays are expected.

Construction work will take place at Tabbimobile (23 to 34km north of Maclean). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Intermittent stoppages will take place from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (7.00am to 6.00pm). Minor delays will be experienced.

A bridge work site is located at Richmond River, Wardell (17km south of Ballina). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits and reduced lane widths will remain in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Some minor delays will be experienced.

Pavement maintenance and/or safety barrier work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (7.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:

  • Mororo (21 to 23km north of Maclean) on Tuesday 21, Wednesday 22 and Friday 24;
  • New Italy (9 to 12km south of Woodburn) on Monday 2 and Thursday 23;
  • Woodburn (35km south of Ballina) from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25; and
  • Emigrant Ck (6km south of Ballina) on Monday 20 (7.00pm to 6.00am night).

Ballina to Queensland State Border

Vegetation management work will take place at various locations between Ballina and St Helena (30km north of Ballina). Mobile traffic control will be implemented from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (6.00am to 6.00pm). No delays are expected.

Construction work will take place at Banora Point (6 to 10km south Qld Border). Temporary traffic control involving reduced speed limits, shoulder closures and/or lane diversions with local road restrictions will be in place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26. Lane closures will be implemented from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (10.00am to 2.30pm), and on Monday 20 & Tuesday 21 (7.00pm to 6.00am night). Some minor delays will be experienced.

Pavement maintenance, road marking, signage, lighting and/or vegetation management work will take place at the following locations. Minor delays will be experienced with temporary traffic control implemented (6.00am to 5.00pm) involving reduced speed limits, shoulder and/or lane closures with only one lane alternately available at some locations:

  • Ballina Bypass on Thursday 23 and Friday 24;
  • Ballina to Brunswick Heads (42km north of Ballina) on Wednesday 22;
  • Tintenbar to St Helena (12 to 28km north of Ballina) on Monday 20 and Tuesday 21;
  • Tandys Lane Overbridge (38km north of Ballina) on Monday 20;
  • Yelgun to Chinderah Freeway (13 to 43km south Qld Border) from Monday 20 to Friday 24;
  • Kanes Road (30km south Qld Border) from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 (24 hours);
  • Clothiers Creek (25km south Qld Border) from Monday 20 to Saturday 25;
  • Chinderah & Tweed Hds Bypass (3 to 14km south Qld) from Tues. 21 to Fri. 24 (9.30am to 3.00pm);
  • Tugan Bypass (4km south Qld) to Qld from Monday 20 to Friday 24 (9.00pm to 5.00am night);
  • Tugan Bypass Tunnel (3km sth Qld) from Mon. 20 to Friday 24 (full closure 9.00pm to 6.00am night); and
  • Tugan Bypass Tunnel (3km south Qld) to Qld on Wed. 25 and Thurs. 26 (9.00pm to 5.00am night).
