Short list announced for inviting tenders for nambucca to urunga upgrade project
A short list of companies which will be invited to submit tenders to design and build the Nambucca Heads to Urunga section of the Warrell Creek to Urunga Pacific Highway upgrade has been announced.
Abigroup Contractors Pty Ltd, Baulderstone Pty Ltd and Thiess Contractors Pty Ltd have been invited to submit detailed tenders for the upgrade work.
Roads and Maritimes Services (RMS) expects to award the contract in late 2012.
The Nambucca Heads to Urunga upgrade section is progressing well with the project team continuing with land acquisitions and investigations to prepare this section for the start of major work in 2013.
Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) is undertaking a technical review of an eight kilometre section of the Warrell Creek to Urunga Pacific Highway upgrade.
The project will involve an upgrade of the existing highway to four lane divided highway from the existing Allgomera deviation, south of Warrell Creek to the existing Waterfall Way interchange at Raleigh, with the exception of the eight kilometre area identified as part of the technical review.
Planning for the Warrell Creek to Urunga is jointly funded by the Federal and NSW governments.
Funding has been provided in the current $3.6 billion five year program to progress planning and pre-construction activities. This includes additional geotechnical field investigations, which are currently underway.
Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) has engaged Coffey Geotechnics to undertake additional geotechnical field investigations.
