Bellbrook Public School first aid fundraiser

A fundraising initiative organised by a member of the Kempsey bypass project team has seen two new first aid kits and a new water cooler donated to Bellbrook Public School.

Frances Page, a plant administrator on the Kempsey bypass, originally discovered the local school's first aid kit was in need of supplies, and then organised a fundraising campaign that saw other team members dip into their pockets and raise over $300.

Hearing of the school's plight, local supplier Blackwoods donated another first aid kit for the school, which allowed the project team to also purchase additional supplies and a water cooler.

The new equipment was then presented to the school community on a recent visit.

Fran's initiative in organising this fundraiser continues the project's efforts to have a positive impact on the area in which they work.

Kempsey bypass wishing tree helps local PCYC

The Kempsey bypass project team aligned with the Kempsey PCYC this Christmas and organised a wishing tree for project staff to provide gifts for local children.

This year's campaign followed the great success of a similar fundraiser last year.

The local PCYC at Kempsey is widely recognised for its crime prevention and youth development services, education and welfare programs and sport and recreation activities.

The wishing tree allowed us to again get behind a great organisation and lend a hand to support our local community.

Over 40 presents were donated by the project team, who then presented the gifts at the PCYC.

The Kempsey bypass project team works with the community to minimise impacts of construction. A full-time community relations team is located at the project site office and can be contacted by phone, in person or email.
