Pacific Highway Upgrade

Woolgoolga to Ballina project history

The Woolgoolga to Ballina project is comprised of the following Pacific Highway upgrade development projects:

Community consultation, environmental and engineering investigations to identify route options, preferred routes and concept designs for these sections have been undertaken. The environmental investigations resulted in the preparation of technical papers for ecology, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal heritage, noise, water quality, hydraulics and hydrology, flooding and traffic.

On 31 March 2010, the NSW Government announced $10 million to continue planning for the upgrade of the Pacific Highway between Woolgoolga and Ballina.

A refined concept design has been prepared and is now on display for community comment. Further information is available in the October 2011 community update and refined concept design report.
