The project
The Woolgoolga to Ballina project is comprised of the following four previous Pacific Highway planning projects:
- Woolgoolga to Wells Crossing
- Wells Crossing to Iluka Road
- Iluka Road to Woodburn
- Woodburn to Ballina
For more information on each of these projects go to the project history page.
The Woolgoolga to Ballina project would upgrade about 155 kilometres of highway. The project starts approximately six kilometres north of Woolgoolga (north of Coffs Harbour) and ends approximately six kilometres south of Ballina.
The upgrade does not include the Glenugie and Devils Pulipit sections of highway that are soon to start or under construction.
A refined concept design was recently on display for community comment.
An online mapping tool was used during the display period to collect community comments of the refined concept design.
The comments made by community and stakeholders will remain on the maping tool however, no new comments can be added following the display finishing on 4 November 2011.
Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) will use the comments to assist in the development of the environmental impact study where they will be given further consideration.
Roads and Maritime Services thanks community and stakeholders for participating in the forum and advise that while comments can no longer be placed on line, any issues of concern can be sent to the project team on 1800 778 900 or email w2balliance@globalskm.com.
