The upgrade of the Great Western Highway through Bullaburra will be carried out in two sections:

Bullaburra East

Ridge Street, Lawson to Genevieve Road, Bullaburra.

Roads and Maritime Services is proposing to widen the existing two lane highway to a four lane divided highway between Ridge Street, Lawson and 600m west of Genevieve Road, Bullaburra.

Detailed design work for the project is now underway and the community is invited to comment on two proposals for a pedestrian bridge to cross the highway to Bullaburra railway station.

Bullaburra West

Genevieve Road, Bullaburra to Tableland Road, Wentworth Falls.

As part of the Great Western Highway upgrade, Roads and Maritime Services will widen the existing two lane highway to a four lane divided highway between 600m west of Genevieve Road, Bullaburra and Tableland Road, Wentworth Falls.

The $85 million construction contract has been awarded to Daracon Contractors and work on the upgrade began in early 2012. Completion is expected in early 2014, weather permitting.

This project is fully funded by the NSW Government.
