Bus Corridor Program

Pitt Street, Parramatta - northbound bus / traffic lane changes - Bus corridor 11

The way the northbound bus lane operates in Pitt Street, Parramatta, between the Great Western Highway and Argyle Street, has changed.

The kerbside bus lane in Pitt Street northbound has been converted to a general traffic lane between the highway and Argyle Street.

Part of the third northbound traffic lane has been converted to a bus lane from just north of Campbell Street to Argyle Street and now runs parallel with the existing southbound contra-flow bus only lane.

The new lane arrangements make the traffic lanes more efficient and eliminate delays to buses turning right into Argyle Street from Pitt Street northbound.

Northbound vehicles entering properties on the eastern side of Pitt Street are permitted to travel in the new bus lane for up to 100 metres to access properties.

Vehicles exiting these properties can cross the existing bus only lane, turn into the northbound bus lane and then merge with the general traffic lane.

Operation of the contra-flow bus only lane located in the kerbside lane of Pitt Street southbound between Argyle Street and the Great Western Highway remains unchanged.
