Bus Corridor Program

Inner West Busway along Victoria Road

Inner West Busway along Victoria Road

Introduction

Major construction of the Inner West Busway was completed and the project open to traffic on 30 January 2011.  The Inner West Busway provides a significant improvement to a key public transport corridor in Sydney.

Bus commuters along Victoria Road now enjoy faster travel times and more reliable bus services between Gladesville Bridge and Sydney central business district.

The Inner West Busway has produced bus travel time savings of up to 17 minutes for citybound commuters in the busiest part of the morning peak period when the majority of patrons are using them.

New bus lanes

Dedicated bus lanes in peak periods give priority to buses to improve the reliability of services along Victoria Road through Drummoyne and Rozelle. The bus lanes operate as follows:

AM Peak weekdays (between 6am and 10am)
  • Citybound from Seymour Street, Drummoyne to The Crescent, Rozelle.
  • Westbound across the new Iron Cove Bridge.
PM Peak weekdays (between 3pm and 7pm)
  • Citybound from Seymour Street, Drummoyne to Terry Street, Rozelle.

24 Hours/day, 7 days/week

  • Citybound from Park Avenue, Drummoyne, over Iron Cove Bridge to Terry Street, Rozelle.
