Inner West Busway along Victoria Road
Construction updates
Final work activities
Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) will be undertaking various work activities to complete the Inner West Busway along Victoria Road through Drummoyne and Rozelle.
Potentially affected residents will be notified prior to work commencing for any work undertaken outside standard working hours or where access to their properties may be affected.
Working hours
- Daytime working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7am to 6pm and Saturday, from 8am to 1pm.
- Night time working hours are Sunday to Thursday, 7pm to 5am.
Lane closures
Various temporary lane closures may be necessary. If so they will be implemented outside of peak periods. Traffic management signs and crews will be in place to direct drivers safely around the work areas. Drivers are requested to take care and to follow the signs.
Parking
Temporary 'no stopping' parking restrictions may be implemented for some work to maintain traffic flow on Victoria Road. The no stopping zones will be clearly signposted.
Noise
For residents, the noise levels will vary depending on their proximity to the noise source, protection by other structures and the type of building they are living in. Noise levels have been identified in the project's Construction Noise and Vibration Management Plan, ranging on a scale of one to four:
- Type 1 such as saw cutting and rock breaking.
- Type 2 such as excavation, loading trucks and compaction.
- Type 3 such as most hand tools, stockpiling, water carts and sweeping.
- Type 4 such as minor hand tools, drilling, steel cutting and pavement painting vehicles.
Roads and Maritime Services (formerly Roads and Traffic Authority) recognises there needs to be a balance between the impact of construction around the local community (particularly in relation to noise) and interruptions to traffic flow on the very busy Victoria Road.
If you experience extended periods of medium to high levels of noisy work and are concerned, please contact the community relations team on 1300 780 841.
