Building Sydney Motorways

We're building better roads for New South Wales

Our road network is an important part of our daily lives. That's why we're investing in the state and building better roads. To improve the road network across Sydney, some key corridors are being upgraded, including the ANZAC Bridge and the Hills M2 Motorway.

Delays are expected and motorists are advised to allow extra travel time when travelling on the Hills M2 Motorway. We appreciate your understanding while these projects are being carried out.

M5 West Widening

The $400 million widening project will support up to 500 jobs and is due for completion towards the end of 2014, weather permitting.   Major construction is expected to commence at the end of August 2012.

ANZAC Bridge

Ongoing maintenance work has started on the ANZAC bridge and is expected to take around two years to complete. Some overnight lane closures are expected.

Hills M2 Motorway upgrade

There is ongoing weekend work in the Hills M2 Norfolk Tunnel. Excavation work in the citybound tunnel started early November and will be ongoing until mid 2012.
