M2 upgrade project
The M2 upgrade commenced mid January 2011. The M2 Upgrade will widen the existing motorway generally between Windsor Road, Baulkham Hills and Lane Cove Road, North Ryde and will deliver four new ramps to improve access to the motorway.
The upgrade is expected to be completed in the first half of 2013 and is subject to a range of Conditions of Approval.
The local community is kept informed on progress of the M2 Upgrade with community information sessions, regular newsletters, letterbox drops, advertisements as well as signage.

WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?
Various work activities being undertaken in April include:
- Constructing retaining walls for the new Windsor Road on and off ramps. Yale Close Bridge abutments and near Busaco Road.
- Ongoing works to widen or lengthen the bridges on and over the motorway.
- Ongoing installation of new permanent noise walls.
- Ongoing earthworks, drainage and widening works along the motorway.
- Ongoing work to strengthen the existing pavement.
- New pavement construction.
- Removing the temporary Terry Creek Bridge tower crane.
- Completing excavation work in the citybound tube of the Norfolk Tunnel.
- Commencing rock excavation work at both ends of the westbound tube of the Norfolk Tunnel.
- Ongoing service relocations including power, gas and communications.
