Bicycle Projects

Western region

The following projects for 2011 are council based and details are available by contacting the relevant council:

Construction of road shoulders along both sides of Vale Road from Lloyds Road, Bathurst to Bridge Street, Perthville.

Stabilisation and re-sealing of the existing shared use path along the western, southern and northern side of the Mitchell Highway from the Back 'O' Bourke centre to the Old Gateway Bridge, North Bourke.

Construction of a separated path along the eastern side of Sulphide Street (Sturt Park) from Wolfram Street to Beryl Street, Broken Hill.

Construction of a shared use path from the intersection of Blakey Street and Lewis Street, around the eastern and southern boundaries of the Cobar Golf Club and the southern and western sides of the Newey Water Recreation Area to Belagoy Street, Cobar.

Installation of 12 bicycle parking facilities at key bicycle generators in Cowra - Europa Park, Mulyan Oval, Tourist Information Centre, Edgell Park, River Park, Japanese Gardens, Kendall Street, Cowra van park, Cowra Swimming Pool, Cowra Skate Park, Cowra Library and the POW Camp.

Tracker Riley Cycleway extension Stage 2: 1) construction of a shared use path within/along the western side of the disused Dubbo-Molong Railway Line from Macquarie Street to the Macquarie River; 2) construction of a low level bridge crossing of the Macquarie River west of the disused Dubbo-Molong railway line bridge; and 3) construction of a shared use path along the southern side of the Macquarie River from just west of the disused Dubbo-Molong railway line bridge to the existing shared use path in Dundullimal Reserve, Dubbo.

Construction of a shared use path along the southern foreshore of Farmers Creek from the Geordie Street bridge/crossing to George Coates Avenue, Lithgow.

Construction of a shared use path along 1) the eastern side of Boston Street from 17 metres south of Carol Avenue to Carol Avenue; and 2) the southern side of Carol Avenue from Boston Street to opposite Alcare Street, Moree.

Construction of a shared use path along the northeastern side of Hill Street and the eastern side of Yellowbox Way (Kearneys Drive) from 100 south of Northstoke Way (Roselawn Drive) to the Orange Botanical Gardens entrance, Orange.

Construction of a shared use path along 1) the northwestern foreshore of the Coolaburragundy River from Cassilis Road to an eastern prolongation of Charles Street; and 2) the southern side of the Charles Street (road corridor) from the Coolaburragundy River to Binnia Street, Coolah.
