RFS uses state-of-the-art plant and equipment to deliver all types of linemarking services: urban, rural, long-line and road marking. We also linemark tarmacs in regional airports, haulage roads for power stations and raceways.
In August 2009, two new mark-8 truck-mounted linemarkers went into service. The new linemarkers have a 1000-litre paint capacity, with enhancements in design and control systems. The new model meets the highest standards in retro-reflectivity. It was designed and built by our own Fleet Services mechanical engineering team.
Our linemarking operators continually work to produce better results – in operating efficiency, quality of reflectivity and reduced environmental footprint.
A recent innovation involves using reverse rheology – angling the paint and bead guns to apply paint and beads against the movement of the vehicle and at zero speed. This means reduced bead loss, better reflectivity and reduced paint splatter. All this results in cleaner, sharper reflective road lines and marks with better visibility for the motorist.
Our Linemarking operation is certified to PCCP (Painting Contractors Certification Program). This is in the category 'Pavement Marking – Application and Removal'. We achieved this certification in August 2008 and were the first organisation to be certified in this category.
