Most primary production equipment only has limited road use, so primary producers may be entitled to registration concessions from the RTA.
The operation of agricultural and other primary production equipment is also subject to special conditions:
If a vehicle is not used on any road or road-related area, except when crossing to or from land that is used mainly for primary production, then it doesn't need to be registered.
An agricultural implement towed by a vehicle (or a trailer towed by an agricultural machine) does not have to be registered. Examples include irrigating equipment, augers, conveyors, harvester fronts and harvester bins. Agricultural machinery includes tractors, harvesters etc.
