Written-off vehicle register (WOVR)

The written-off vehicle register (WOVR) is designed to assist in combating the problem of re-birthed vehicles. Re-birthing is the term used when identities of damaged vehicles are bought at auctions, or elsewhere, and put onto stolen vehicles  to give them new identification numbers.

The register allows insurers, auctioneers and dismantlers to access the RTA database, in real-time, to enquire about and add written-off vehicles. It is a legislative requirement that insurers, auctioneers and dismantlers use it.

To access WOVR online click here  (open application).
(You will need to be a registered user to access the website. To apply for registration, download the internet access request form from the box below and fax it to the RTA.)

You can also submit information to the WOVR using the Written-off vehicle advice, Written-off vehicle advice identification amendment and Written-off vehicle advice identification discrepancy forms. For more information about WOVR please refer to the WOVR business rules.
(You can view and download the submission forms and business rules from the box below.)
