Neutral Bay Wharf upgrade
Background
The NSW State Government is upgrading the Neutral Bay Wharf. A new $8.3 million upgrade will provide better access for customers that use mobility aids and improved facilities and safety for all customers. This upgrade is one of several wharfs to be upgraded as part of the Sydney Harbour Wharf Upgrade Program that will improve Sydney's ferry services for passengers.
The Neutral Bay Wharf upgrade is a substantial project requiring the removal of the existing wharf and construction of a new wharf. The upgrade work is expected to be finished in August 2012, however weather and water conditions could mean that construction will be interrupted for short periods of time. Once the new wharf is ready, it will offer commuters a new, safe and accessible way to travel by ferry on the harbour.
The new wharf has been designed to have a consistent look and feel with other wharfs that will be upgraded as part of the Sydney Harbour Wharf Upgrade Program. The Milsons Point Wharf was the first wharf to be upgraded as part of this program and photos of the Milsons Point Wharf can be viewed at the photo gallery on the right of this page. Artist impressions of the new Neutral Bay Wharf are also available in this gallery.
