My Learner Rider's licence has expired. What do I have to do?
You must re-attend the Pre-Learner training - See How do I obtain a learner rider licence.
What if it's raining? Will the course still be on?
Yes. If a course needs to be postponed due to extreme climactic conditions (eg cyclone, floods, etc) course applicants will be notified by the training provider.
If I have a physical impairment can I obtain a motorcycle licence?
Most likely, however you should discuss your condition with your doctor.
What motorcycles can I ride?
In NSW, holders of learner and provisional motorcycle licences are not permitted to ride a motorcycle with an engine capacity exceeding 660ml or a power to weight ratio exceeding 150 kilowatts per tonne and which do not appear on theĀ Approved motorcycles for novice riders list.
Further information can be obtained by contacting Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) on 13 22 13.
Can I hire a motorcycle to do the course?
A motorcycle will be supplied when you attend pre-learner training.
You will need to provide a motorcycle for your pre-provisional training and testing.
Motorcycles can usually be hired from the course provider but you will need to arrange the hire of the motorcycle about 5 days before your course.
Do I have to do a provisional course if I already hold a driver's licence?
Yes. Any person wishing to obtain a motorcycle rider's licence and residing within a 'declared area' in NSW is required to successfully complete both pre-learner and provisional rider training before attempting the Motorcycle Operator Skill Test.
I am the holder of an Overseas Rider's licence and I want to change to a NSW licence.

It will not be necessary to attend a pre-learner rider training course to obtain a Learner licence.

You will need to:
- have held your overseas Learner Rider's licence for a minimum of three months
