This section describes how to troubleshoot
Microsoft Internet Explorer setup to run Practice
Driver Knowledge Test from our website. Please note that Internet
Explorer's default settings should be sufficient for browsing
and adding items to the basket, however, for anyone who is
having trouble, you can follow these simple steps.
Our
general advice is to firstly try using a direct connection
to the Internet [i.e. do not use a proxy server], this can
be checked by following these steps:
- Open Internet Explorer browser.
- Click "Tools" at the top menu.
- Click "Internet Options".
- Click the "Connections" tab.
- Click on "LAN Settings".
- Check if there is a tick next to 'use a proxy server'
if there is, remove this tick.
- Click "OK".
- Highlight your internet connection. (eg. Optus net connection.)
- Select "Settings".
- Check if there is a tick next to 'use a proxy server'
if there is, remove this tick also.
- Click "OK".
- Click "OK" again to finish.
If you are running any web accelerator programs
please disable these so you are attempting to browse directly
to the website.
You may have an invalid entry or corrupt file
in your cache, which inhibits your ability to access the particular
site.
To clear your cache, please follow these
steps:
- Open Internet Explorer browser.
- Click "Tools" at the top menu.
- Click "Internet Options".
- Click on delete cookies click ok.
- Click on delete files click ok.
- Click on Settings --> under Settings Check for newer
version of stored pages choose "Every visit to the page"
- Click on view files and delete all files that you might
see on the new window (Temporary Internet Files directory).
- Hold the "Ctrl" key on the bottom left hand corner of
your keyboard & press the "A" key.
- All files in the list should be highlighted, when this
is done press the "Delete" key.
- Close all windows now & try to access the page again.
