Tow Truck Licensing - Operators
Criteria for granting a tow truck operator licence
The criteria for a tow truck operator licence are the requirements that applicants must meet before a tow truck operator licence can be issued by the RTA.
A person or members of a corporation wishing to be accredited to operate a tow truck service:
- must be of good repute
- must be fit and proper
- must be able to meet and continue to meet the appropriate requirements in respect of:
- Business premises
- Vehicles
- Insurance
The applicant must have also:
- read and understood the criteria, conditions and procedures for licensing as outlined in the operator information package
- completed an application form and answered all questions truthfully
- met all the requirements specified in the criteria
Then you will be required to:
- deliver or post the completed application form, all the documentation and payment , to the RTA
- wait for advice from the RTA
