Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) ONLINE SERVICES
Making your way to your local motor registry isn’t always convenient – so now a huge range of transactions and enquiries can be done online. And this isn’t limited to basic things like checking contact numbers or finding out about road closures – there are heaps of services available that all drivers and vehicle owners will need to use at some stage.
Renewing your rego?
You could physically go to an inspection station, getyour pink slip then head over to an insurer’s office for your green slip, then take all the pieces of paper into a motor registry to pay over the counter. But you don’t have to. You can get an inspection at an e-Safety station that will send your pink slip directly to Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority).
You can also purchase a green slip online and have it sent to Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority). Then renew your rego online at myRTA.com
You now have the option of taking a six month rego period – which can be really handy to help with budgeting. This online only option may help if your rego falls at a bad time of year, or if it would be easier to pay in two instalments. Best of all, it costs nothing extra!
Travel on toll roads?
You can sign up for an E-Toll account on myRTA.com, set up a temporary pass or pay your toll notices. You can also check your eligibility for the M5 cash back scheme. While you’re at it, check out live traffic cameras to see how busy major Sydney and regional roads are, in real-time.
Getting your licence?
If you are in the process of getting your licence you can download handbooks and guides from Roads and Maritime Services (replacing Roads and Traffic Authority) website to help you along. You can also book your tests online and check out what you can do to prepare. There’s also loads of community education information like posters and brochures available to download.
Want to jazz up your car, truck, bike or trailer?
If you’re keen on a new set of number plates, jump onto myplates.com.au and check out the full range of styles and options available. You can also check availability and dummy up a plate design. Cool huh?
What about a bit of info exchange?
The myAddress area of myRTA.com lets you update your residential and mailing addresses. In myRecords you can check how many demerit points you have and get a copy of your driving record. If you are buying or selling a vehicle you can also run a vehicle check on a potential new car purchase, or submit a notice of disposal.
