Environmental management is an important aspect of the RTA’s decision-making and activities. Environmental direction is provided in the RTA’s Corporate Plan 2003-2008, The Journey Ahead. The plan includes the business outcome, ‘Valuing the Environment - Striking a balance between the natural and built environment’ and provides direction to ensure that the environmental impact of our activities is managed well.
The RTA’s approach to environmental management is underpinned by an Environmental Management System and Environmental Policy. The organisation also reports publicly on its environmental performance in its Annual Report and Annual Environment Report.
