NSW Roads and Traffic Authority Pesticide Use Notification Plan

The New South Wales Pesticides Regulation 1995 requires public authorities such as the RTA to prepare a Pesticide Use Notification Plan that outlines how they will notify the community of pesticide applications made to public places.
The RTA finalised the RTA Pesticide Use Notification Plan following a 4-week public exhibition period. This statewide plan covers all pesticides used by or on behalf of the RTA and describes:

  • What public places are covered by the plan.
  • Who regularly uses these public places and an estimate of the level of use.
  • How and when the community will be informed about pesticide applications in public places (i.e. what notification arrangements will be used).
  • How the community can access this plan and get more information.
  • Contact details for anyone wanting more information on the plan.

A hard copy of the plan may be viewed on request at the ground floor of 260 Elizabeth St, Surry Hills. It is also attached below.

Internet-based notification

This website provides information on the RTA’s forward pesticide application program  for pesticide uses that are:

  • directly controlled by the RTA, and
  • applied on urban and rural roadsides, and where
  • no notification exemptions apply.

Please refer to the RTA Pesticide Use Notification Plan for further information on Internet-based notification.
