Seaforth Oval access

The RTA has commenced work to upgrade the Wakehurst Parkway/Burnt Street intersection with traffic signals.

Background

The current access into Seaforth Oval in the Garigal National Park is off Wakehurst Parkway.  In conjunction with Manly Council, the RTA plans to improve the access into Seaforth Oval, resulting in a new cross intersection being formed with Burnt Street at the Wakehurst Parkway.

Key features

  • Signalised intersection at Wakehurst Parkway and Burnt Street at Seaforth.
  • New access to Seaforth Oval.

Benefits

  • Improved access for motorists.
  • Improved safety for pedestrians.
  • Improved car parking arrangements and access including formalised bus parking.

Community consultation

The species impact statement and an aerial diagram of the upgrade plans were displayed for public comment from 18 April 2007 to 21 May 2007.

All community and stakeholder comments were considered in finalising the upgrade plans.
