Improvements to pedestrian and cyclist facilities

The new bridge would provide improved pedestrian and cycle facilities over Iron Cove with connections to the Bay Run.

Strategies are also being examined between Drummoyne and Rozelle for other cycle improvements. The pedestrian and cyclist facilities will be subject to further council and community consultation.

What improvements are planned for pedestrian and cyclist facilities?

The RTA proposes to provide an additional shared pedestrian and bike path on the new bridge with connections to the Bay Run and Victoria Road.

The new pedestrian and bike path would be situated on the western side of the new bridge, overlooking the parkland and bay area. A barrier would separate pedestrians and cyclists from traffic. This would be in addition to the existing pedestrian and bike path on the existing bridge.

A ramp connection would be provided from the new bridge to King George Park.
