Provide right turn bay from Spit Road to Medusa Street for southbound traffic.
Benefits
This proposal will enable the ‘temporary’ part time right turn bay in Spit Road at the intersection with Pearl Bay Avenue to be removed which will allow three lanes in the north bound direction at this intersection during morning peak. The will also enable the introduction of a morning peak bus lane between Medusa Street and Parriwi Road to give buses priority and improve travel times up to the Spit Bridge.
The permanent nature of this proposal is safer than the ‘temporary’ part time right turn bay at Pearl Bay Avenue.
Progress
These works are scheduled to approximately start in mid 2010 and be completed by mid 2011.
