Morning bus lane between Medusa Street and Parriwi Road

Proposed works

Provide a northbound morning peak bus lane on Spit Road between Medusa Street and Parriwi Road to give buses priority and to improve travel times up to the Spit Bridge. This will reduce the delays caused when merging down to one lane to cross the bridge. 

Benefits

This proposal will improve bus travel time and reliability.

With this project buses will reliably be able to travel up to the posted speed limit and could save up to 6 minutes in the morning outbound peak. 

Progress

These works are scheduled to approximately start in mid 2010 and be completed by mid 2011.
