Intersection improvements - Knox Road and Quakers Hill Parkway

The $5.6 million upgrade of the intersection of Richmond Road, Knox Road and Quakers Hill Parkway at Doonside has been completed.  New traffic lights at the intersection were activated on Monday 29 June 2009.

Work on the project started in late November 2007 and involved replacing a roundabout with a signalised intersection, bus priority treatments and improved pedestrian facilities.

Key features of the proposal

  • Roundabout replaced with traffic lights.
  • Pedestrian crossings on all four approaches to the intersection.
  • Bus priority measures incorporated into the redesigned intersection.
